November 05, 2002: Cybercon has added a Qwest GigE Internet backbone connection
While other companies are treading water to survive an economic downturn, Cybercon is
gaining ground. A second GigE connection has been added to meet consumer
demand for bandwidth. The use of multimedia and media streaming servers is increasing
with more end-users getting faster connections, resulting in more data transfer.
Additional bandwidth capacity was added to Cybercon's St. Louis Data Center to make sure
any bandwidth bottleneck would remain on the user's end. A GigE connection (1000Mbps or
1Gbps) is faster than a traditional OC12 line which can only accomodate about 622Mbps.
